Washington, DC

11 leading hardware and software vendors today announced their support for AT&T WorldWorx Solutions, doubling the number of companies involved in the AT&T effort to help customers make interactive, multipoint video and data calls.

New companies announcing that their endpoint hardware and software will support WorldWorx are: Compression Labs, Inc.; InSoft, Inc.; RSI Systems, Inc.; Silicon Graphics, Inc.; Vivo Software, Inc.; VTEL Corporation; and Zydacron, Inc.

Additional independent software vendors whose applications will be supported on WorldWorx are: Databeam Corporation; Primavera Systems, Inc.; Sybase, Inc.; and WordPerfect, the Novell Applications Group.

The announcement was made here today at the ComNet trade show, where AT&T and many of the WorldWorx partner companies are exhibiting.

Together with the 11 vendors who are already part of the WorldWorx group, AT&T and these additional companies will make it possible for people using different hardware and software to see and talk with each other while sharing files and data on their desktop computers. AT&T WorldWorx Network Services will help achieve this interoperability across various platforms for multipoint, as well as for point-to-point, videoconferencing and data collaboration.

"These new partners are pioneers in providing advanced conferencing and collaboration tools to business users, and they add to the critical mass that AT&T WorldWorx Solutions has achieved," said Ernie DeNigris, vice president, AT&T WorldWorx Network Services. "Combined with the worldwide reach and intelligence of AT&T's network, our WorldWorx partners' offerings will give customers a wide choice of interoperable applications and solutions. Customers can be assured that these new capabilities can be integrated easily and seamlessly into the way they work."

AT&T WorldWorx Personal Conferencing Service is available point-to-point today, and first customer availability of multipoint service is planned for the second quarter of 1995. Customers will be able to use any of the compatible hardware and software from WorldWorx partners and be assured they will work together.

AT&T also will make it easier for customers to use this new communications technology by coordinating the ordering and installation of the required digital access or ISDN service to customers locations; will offer professional services to ensure end-to-end connectivity and provide overall project management of installations; and will provide product help lines and ongoing assistance and maintenance.
