reported that InSoft, Inc. leads the pack in sales of
LAN-based systems in 1994. According to figures recently
released by desktop video vendors, sales in 1994 totaled
27900 software kits compared to 10000 seats sold for
group, or room video systems. "The market for software kits last year was estimated at $67.2 million", said Elliot Gold, an analyst and president of TeleSpan Publishing Corp., Altadena, Ca. The figures were up from his own prediction that only about 20000 desktop units would be sold. Gold predicts that vendors will ship a total of 100000 units by the year's end. |
