3Com used INTV! to broadcast video from their
production floor, which showed their robots manufacturing
NIC cards, to several PCs running on the show floor.
GTE
GTE demonstrated Communique! on 3
ConferenceStations on the show floor, and the DFW Airport
in Texas. Communique! ConferenceStations were
located in GTE, Cascade and Ascom Timeplex booths.
Cisco Systems used INTV! to drive a
demonstration of their new Catalyst 5000 (ATM switch) and
Virtual LAN emulation-controlling software. This
demonstration ran on both ATM and Ethernet network
layers. INTV! is distributing digital video across
Sun and PC platforms using a Parallax Graphics
video board on the server. Video content will be
supported by laser disc video players.
Cisco also demonstrated Communique! using their
multicast routers including RSVP protocol and switching
software that guarantee connectivity even after loss of
primary net connection.
Osprey
Osprey demonstrated Communique! between the Sun
and PC platforms. On the Sun they are showing their
SLIC-Video product that is able to run Communique!
through a binary-compatibility mode with the SunVideo
card. On the PC, they are demonstrating Communique!
on their showcase product, the Osprey-1000, being
announced at Interop. It is a audio/video codec on a
1/2-slot PCI card. It features support for multiple
audio/video compression algorithms, and is supported on
multiple computing platforms.
Cabletron Systems conducted a multiplatform Communique!
conference between the Sun and PC.
Connectware also demonstrated Communique!'s
multiplatform capability between a Sun workstation and a
PC.
Telecom
Palexpo, Geneva, Switzerland

MCI provided a multinational demonstration of Communique!
on Universal workstations running productivity software.
Using satellite ATM and E1 links, the workstations are
conferencing between British Telecom in London and the
show floor in Geneva.
DSC
DSC gave a global demonstration of Communique!
between Geneva, Switzerland and the United States.
Sprint provided an "over the pond" demo
between Geneva, Switzerland and the United States.
Research Institute of Computer Graphics conferenced
between Berlin, Brussels, and Paris using Communique!.
CSELT used Communique! to conference with STAT.
