This section explains changes to the software that are not included in the
documentation and also covers any known issues with the software.
- Running the Statically Linked Version of INTV!
- If you are using INTV! on a workstation running OpenLook, and the Motif/X11R5
libraries are not present on your system, you can run INTV! with statically-linked
libraries. To use the statically-linked versions of the executables, include the -static
flag on the command line. For example, the following commands will run the
statically-linked versions of the station and chooser respectively:
$INTV_HOME/station -static
$INTV_HOME/intv -static
If the Motif/X11R5 libraries are available somewhere on your system, you should be sure
to set your $LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable to include the directory where they are located, and
run the dynamically-linked version.
- The LM_LICENSE_FILE and INTV_HOME Environment Variables
- The INTV! software now attempts to determine the home directory of INTV!
and the location of the license file automatically when it is executed, so under ordinary
circumstances, there should be no need to set the INTV_HOME and LM_LICENSE_FILE variables.
If these variables are set, INTV! will use their values rather than attempting to
guess the location of the files.
- Solaris Audio Output Devices
- On Solaris machines, 1 audio output device must always be selected. If you wish to mute
the audio from the station, you should deselect its audio on the Chooser's station index.
- Communique! Detects INTV! Software
- If you are running Communique! on the same network that you run INTV!, INTV!
stations and clients will show up on From Network scans with the Communique! Conference
Manager.
- Multicast Route on HPs
- On HP systems, if multicast capability is installed but no multicast route has been
added, then no stations will appear on the chooser. In order to add a route, issue the
following command while running as root:
route add 224.0.0.0 [hostname] 0
- Commands Responding to [Control] or [Alt]
- Depending on the platform on which you are running, commands may work with the [Control]
or the [Alt] key. If a shortcut command doesn't work with [Ctrl]+Command Key, try
[Alt]+Command Key and it will work.
