CU-SeeMe is based on work originally done at Cornell University. White Pine commercialized the product, and has made it available on Windows and Macintosh platforms. It supports multipoint conferences, and with some additional software from White Pine it can talk to H.323 clients.
With the exception of Microsoft NetMeeting it is one of the most popular desktop video conferencing packages in the market.
