The io5 benchmark is a home-grown offshoot of the iozone benchmark. It creates a new file system on the target device, does a large amount of sequential writes, flushes the output, and does a large amount of sequential reads. This is repeated with different values for the HFS file system geometry.
HFS is the Unix High-performance File System.
The drives used are Seagate ST423451N, ST32171WD, Quantum XP39100WD, XP34550WD, and Micropolis 3243-19
