Each of MDL’s products is designed and manufactured to meet or exceed the reliability and performance standards of the industry. MDL also offers hot swap programs tailored to customer requirements. The standard feature of every product includes a complete one year parts and labor warranty, with overnight exchange. MDL disk drives also carry a five year return-to-factory warranty.

DSD Driver

The DSD driver for HP 9000 Series 700 Workstations running HP-UX 9.0x or 10.x enables those systems to access the entire capacity of disk drives and RAID systems exceeding 4 gigabytes in size.

Disk Drives

Fast narrow, fast wide and Ultra SCSI disks, with capacities up to and exceeding 23 gigabytes.

RAID

Fast narrow, fast wide and Ultra SCSI and Fibrechannel RAID systems, with capacities up to and exceeding 50 terabytes, and with hot swap and dual redundant controllers, power supplies and fans.

TriadServer^TM Network File Server

High performance 10 and 100 megabit/second and gigabit Ethernet and FDDI NFS network file server systems with up to 24 separate network interfaces. These systems have extremely low system administration requirements and offer local NDMP compatible backup and restore, and fault tolerant RAID-protected storage capacities up to and exceeding 500 terabytes. TriadServer is available with a wide range of configuration and support options designed to suit your requirements.

FANS

The EISA-based Fast And Narrow SCSI interface and driver adds a fast 10 megabyte per second single-ended or differential 8 bit wide SCSI bus to the Series 700 workstation. It is fully compatible with and is accessed through the standard HP SCSI drivers. Each FANS board adds 7 SCSI target addresses to your system.

FAWS

The EISA-based Fast And Wide SCSI interface and driver adds a fast 20 megabyte per second single-ended or differential 16 bit wide SCSI bus to the Series 700 workstation. It is fully compatible with and is accessed through the standard HP SCSI drivers. Each FAWS board adds 15 SCSI target addresses to your system.

Archival Backup

NetWorker

For the HP9000, it is available through MDL from Legato. It is a powerful, easy to use backup/restore solution for HP 9000 commercial servers, including large Oracle database servers. NetWorker is capable of backing up your entire network of computer systems from multiple workstations or file servers of most UNIX vendors to PCs, NetWare 3.1x (and later) servers, and Macintosh. NetWorker for HP 9000 combines a superior level of power, ease of use and protection previously unavailable for HP workstations and servers.

Expansion

EX700

The EX700 EISA expansion box expands the single EISA slot of Series 715, 720, 730 or 735 workstation to four full speed, full length, fully EISA compliant slots. It is fully compatible with the HP-UX operating system and EISA device drivers. This product has been tested and qualified by HP.

100 Megabit and Gigabit Ethernet Interfaces

Fast 10/100 Megabit ethernet EISA and PCI interfaces, and gigabit ethernet PCI bus interfaces and drivers, for use on HP workstations and servers, and SGI systems.

Half and full duplex connections are supported, achieving a theoretical throughput of up to 200 megabits per second using Fast Ethernet, and up to 2 gigabits per second using Gigabit Ethernet. Single port, dual port and quad port configurations are available, with either copper or fiber cabling supported.

Fast 100 Mbit ethernet and combination 10/100 Mbit ethernet interfaces, for use on Intel architecture workstations. Both half and full duplex connections are supported, achieving a theoretical throughput of up to 200 megabits per second.

FDDI

The FDDI interface and driver adds a fast 100 megabit per second fiber optic or copper wire networking interface to HP 9000 workstations. It is fully compatible with and is accessed through the standard HP networking software.

Ethernet and Fibrechannel Switches, Hubs and Concentrators

Fast Gigabit, 100 Mbit and 10 Mbit concentrators for use in setting up and running networks combining 10baseT, 100baseT, FDDI and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.

Communique!^TM

Communique!^TM is MDL's award-winning desktop video conferencing and collaboration application. Communique! stimulates productivity, group communications and teamwork by bringing people together on a network. Communique! is based on a core software architecture called Digital Video Everywhere (DVE) that enables true interoperability between a variety of supported desktops, video compression algorithms such as JPEG, H.261, Indeo, CellB and DVE2, and networks such as Ethernet, ATM, FDDI, Frame Relay, SMDS and ISDN. Communique! is ideal for collaborative workgroup computing, concurrent engineering, distance learning, boardroom video conferencing, and customer support and training.

OpenDVE^TM

OpenDVE, MDL’s new application development toolkit, is a robust suite of application programming interfaces (APIs), libraries and management that enables you to build full collaborative capabilities native to your applications. It provides you with a platform- and subsystem-independent set of system services that allows collaborative functionality in an interoperable manner. OpenDVE is based on the MDL Digital Video Everywhere (DVE) software architecture that enables true interoperability between supported Windows and UNIX desktops, video compression algorithms such as JPEG, H.261, Indeo, CellB and DVE2, and networks such as Ethernet, ATM, FDDI, Frame Relay, SMDS and ISDN.

INTV!^TM

MDL Network Television! is MDL's client-server application that enables you to distribute real-time audio and video to users on your network. INTV! is a revolutionary breakthrough in distributed digital video technology. Based on MDL’s Digital Video Everywhere (DVE) open software architecture, INTV! allows television data and other video signals to be distributed across the network to users on an "on-demand" basis. DVE software also allows users to view INTV! without requiring a video capture board installed on their workstation. MDL designed INTV! for seamless integration into your existing client/server architecture.

Video Capture

scsiCam

scsiCam is a slotless, multi platform video capture product that works on any computer system with a SCSI bus: UNIX, Windows NT, Windows 95, and other systems. It captures video at up to 24-bit quality, in frame sizes up to 640x480. scsiCam will also work with supported video conferencing software with features such as application sharing, whiteboard, videophone directory services, videophone call waiting and call holding, and video-email. It is the most convenient way to add video conferencing, no matter what kind of workstation you use.
