This is the midrange of the tape library systems MDL offers. These systems handle 20 to 1100 tape cartridges and one to 48 tape drives. MDL mid-range tape libraries are available with 1/2 inch SDLT drives, LTO or 3480/3490 style tape drives. Below are some of the specifications of a mid range SDLT-based tape library. |
Highlights of one of MDL's Mid-Range SDLT Tape Libraries
- From 1 to 8 SDLT Drives
- 20 to 80 Cartridge Positions
- Up to 25 TB Capacity
- Up to 115 GB/hour per Drive Transfer Rate
- SCSI HVD, SCSI LVD or Fibrechannel options
Mid-Range SDLT Tape Library Product Description
MDL Corporation mid-range tape libraries make SDLT technologys fast file access, high performance, and high capacity available for automated server backup and near-line data storage. With current technology, they provide up to 12.8 TB of storage (uncompressed) and up to 115 GB/hour per-drive sustained throughput. Rated for more than 1 million cartridge changes, these libraries are designed to provide trouble-free automated storage over years of heavy service. Multiple drives mean higher performance, redundancy, and allow scalability. Drives can be added in the field in less than 15 minutes to increase performance or to upgrade to newer technology. This product is available in either a desk side or rack mount configuration.
